During the 70's and early 80's a gentleman by the name of Burt Sugarman produced a revolutionary television show for late night viewers on NBC. The show was called The Midnight Special and it was a ninety minute show that showcased some of the world’s most popular musical acts. This show differed from many of its rivals as the featured musical artists performed live as apposed to lip synching to prerecorded music. If you are a fan of the music that was around at this time or if you remember the show and would like the chance to see some of the performances again then you can do so by taking a look at what is on offer at the web address of www.midnightspecial.com. This web site offers its visitors the chance to purchase a DVD that shows some of the Midnight Specials best guest performing, these include Elton John, Roy Orbison, Aerosmith, Aretha Franklin, David Bowie and more.
Some people collect baseball cards, I've spent 30 years collecting rare live concert footage, television performances and music videos. When we became full-time RV'ers my wife put her foot down and told me I had to do something with my collection. The result is this website, initially a place where I could enjoy my collection without having to physically access the media, and now a place that everybody can enjoy.
I do not advocate downloading these videos, although I can't stop you. I also encourage everybody to take a look at the artists represented here and go out and purchase the footage for themselves since most of it is available in DVD format.
